Introducing Jerry’s Briefcase: A Fresh Take on the Jam Band Legacy

California-based band brings decades of experience, dynamic improvisation, and a deep love for Jerry Garcia’s music to the stage


 The jam band scene has a new force to be reckoned with: Jerry’s Briefcase. Combining the rich legacy of Jerry Garcia’s music with a modern jam-band energy, this California-based group is quickly gaining traction with their soulful performances, deep improvisation, and electrifying live shows.

Featuring an all-star lineup of seasoned musicians—including Chris Avila (guitar, vocals), Tina Avila (Keyboards,bass, vocals),Mario Teixeira (Bass guitar, Hammond organ, piano), Dom Harris (drums), and John Glaspie (percussion)—the band weaves together elements of jazz, blues, and reggae, creating a sound that honors the past while pushing the jam band experience into new territories.

“We’re all about the energy, the connection, and the groove,” says guitarist Chris Avila. “Every show is different, every song has a life of its own, and that’s what makes playing this music so exciting.”

Jerry’s Briefcase is currently booking shows across California, bringing their unique blend of tight musicianship and free-flowing improvisation to intimate venues and festivals alike.
